What we do

We mobilise churches to contribute well to the life of our city.

We believe that Christians should live as those who reflect the glory of God and shine the light of the gospel. We have a part to play in helping our city become a more loving, abundant, generous, just, creative, humble, and victorious place, filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord. This talk by Steve Jones unpacks more of that vision:

We celebrate and promote partnerships between Oxford’s churches that began before us, such as the Oxford Churches Debt Centre and Oxford Winter Night Shelter.

We catalyse new partnerships, such as the Oxford Safe Families Partnership between 15 local churches and Safe Families, a national charity that supports children, young people and families by linking them with local volunteers.

We have inter-church working groups exploring how to make a stronger contribution in some key areas:

We gather and share information, helping churches and Christian organisations to know each other, and all to be known to others across the city and beyond.

We promote the opportunity to join Love Oxford, and we represent that network both within the faith sector and more widely to civic society and the public sector.
