We are excited to have Dr. Russell Rook, OBE as one of our keynote speakers at Renew Oxford on 18 June.
Russell is a social entrepreneur who has spent much of the last thirty years helping Christian organisations to help transform their communities and take a stand in the public square. Having started his professional life with The Salvation Army, where he served as an evangelist, church planter and youth worker, Russell has established a number of charities working in education, health and family services.
In 2015, he co-founded the Good Faith Partnership which brings together leaders from faith, politics, charity and commerce to incubate innovative solutions to seemingly intractable problems. At GFP, Russell has helped churches work with the government to resettle refugees, advance international religious freedom, launch YourNeighbour.org and deliver the ChurchWorks Commission for Covid Recovery. Alongside his work at GFP, he serves as a parliamentary aide to Rev Baroness Sherlock in the House of Lords.
This video from YourNeighbour gives a taste of some of the work that churches have done to care for their neighbourhoods during the pandemic:
We look forward to hearing from Russell about how churches can work together to serve their communities.
